Global EA Summit
What an incredible experience presenting at the 16th Global Executive Assistant Summit in Lisbon in May. Standing in front of a room full of engaged, ambitious, and truly inspiring EAs and seeing the smiling faces, the nodding heads, the lightbulb moments all reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
The energy in that room was electric, and I came away just as energised as I hope you all did!
I had the privilege of presenting on a topic very close to my heart: Redefining the EA Career Path, and here are a few of the key messages I shared:
✨ There is no one-size-fits-all EA journey. Your path is uniquely yours and remember that's your superpower, not your limitation. Shout it from the rooftops!
🕺🏽Nobody puts an EA in the corner! Patrick Swayze unfortunately won’t be rescuing us, we need to evolve our own roles.
➡️ Map your own progression path. I shared how I moved from EA to Head of Executive Business & People (Chief of Staff) not by following a standard path, but by building a new one with lots of wonderful support from my exec team. It starts with asking: "What makes me uniquely powerful in our roles?”
💬 Asking strategic questions is easy to learn as an EA. Adapt it to suit your own style. Think about your proximity to leadership and the unique opportunity is gives you to explore the how and why’s.
🚀 The future of the EA profession is self-directed, strategic, and full of possibility…but it starts with how you define it
